What is PLA+ or modified PLA? How is it different than regular PLA?

Posted by Dan Mitchel on

In general PLA+, depending on the brand, is a mixture of other plastics or plasticizer to help improve upon the weaknesses of regular PLA like brittleness and moisture absorbing.

However PLA+ / modified PLA may require higher printing temperature due to whatever added during the manufacturing process.

There is no definite answer if PLA+ is better than PLA or vice versa. Some customers like PLA and hates PLA+ while some prefers PLA+. It all depends on your application and preference.

Based on our experience, we would recommend regular (basic) PLA to users who are new to 3D printing as it is easy to print.
